Free Field Trip:
Behind the Scenes at Intel
- This workshop is filled.
Date:  Thursday, Oct. 11th
Meeting Place: Meet at the Bosque School,  participants will carpool to the Intel Innovation Center on the Intel Campus
Time: 12:30 p.m.  to 3:00 p.m.   (tour will start at 1:00pm)
Leader: Staff of the Intel Innovation Center
# of Participants:  20
Transportation:  participants will meet at the Bosque School,  participants will carpool to the Intel Innovation Center on the Intel Campus

Description:
Behind the scenes at Intel--tour both the factory and the Innovations Center!



Free Field Trip:
Bachechi Center Tour

Date:  Saturday, Oct. 13th
Meeting Place: Bachechi Environmental Education Center (Rio Grande and Alameda in Albuquerque)
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Leader:  Jennifer Schultz,  UNM-BEMP
# of Participants: 10
Transportation:  Participants drive themselves to Bachechi Environmental Education Center

Description:
Bachechi Environmental Education Center focused on a BEMP site that is on the property. Teachers will be introduced to the site as a teaching tool for their own classroom with particular focus on beaver damage and drinking water diversion project.

Tour of Tijeras Pueblo

Meeting Place: Tijeras Pueblo,  behind the Sandia Ranger Station (South on Highway 14)
Time: 1:00 a.m.  to 3:00 p.m.

Transportation:  Participants drive themselves to Tijeras Pueblo

Description:  Participants will tour the Tijeras Pueblo and learn about the on-site education center.


Free Field Trip:
Art, Gardens and the Bosque--Open Space Visitor Center Tour

Date:  Saturday, Oct. 13th
Meeting Place: Open Space Visitor Center
Time: 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.
Leader: Bill Pentler
# of Participants:  no limit
Transportation:  participants drive themselves to the Open Space Visitor Center or sign up to carpool (sign-up sheet will be available on Friday at the conference registration table).
Audience:  General

Cost: Free

Description:
Tour the Open Space Visitor Center and learn about opportunities at the centre for teachers.  Participants will also take a short hike to wetlands or a Puebloan site.

Description:
See the greatest hits of the un-exhbited museum collections! The best "behind the scenes" rocks, critters and bones will be shared.

Igneous Rocks and Landforms of Albuquerque

Time:  12:00pm to 4:00pm

Meeting Place: Bosque School, travel by car to Albuquerque Volcanoes

Brief Itinerary:
12:00 – 12:30: Travel by car from Bosque School to the Albuquerque Volcanoes
12:30 – 2:00: Geology of the Albuquerque Volcanoes
2:00 – 2:30: Travel by car to the Sandia Foothills Open Space (Piedra Lisa site)
2:30 – 4:00: Geology of the Sandia Granite and its landforms
